I knew Debbie through Karen Fuchs, but did not get to know her very well. I remember her being kind of quiet and reserved, but genuinely a nice person.
I knew Deborah in grade school, her family lived right next door to Oakland grade school. I think she was crossing Route 66 walking. I cant remember the year but she was one of the 1st to pass away.
I knew Debbie from gradeschool all the way through high school. What a nice girl. I had no idea she had passed. She was always so pleasant and friendly. I think her dad was a principal.
Debbie was such a beautiful friend inside and out. Her friendship was so sweet, steady, loyal, and enduring in nature, that it will last my entire life. As I sit quietly, close my eyes, and think of her; I can see her, and hear her voice. We are sharing our hopes and dreams for our future lives. I actually laugh, and feel such joy that I was so blessed to have had such a great friend. She was a cherished gift from god, and has definitely made my life better for being a part of it.
Debbie was struck by a car while crossing U.S. 66 on her way home from working at Rolands, Saturday night on June 14, l975. She died the next morning, June 15, 1975 just hours after the accident. The young man driving had recently gotten his driver's license. He was in the passing lane and said that Debbie stepped in front of his car. It was a terrible accident.
Debbie's mother was my 6th grade teacher at Centennial School. She was one of my favorite teachers. Debbie was such a kind and sweet person and had a very nice family.
