I moved from the Oakland School district to the Lincoln School district in second grade.  Bill was one of my first friends in the South Hill neighborhood.  He lived in the 1600 block of S. Madison St. and I in the 1600 block of S. Roosevelt Ave.  We use to have great sand lot baseball games between the Madison St. Monsters and the Roosevelt Raiders.  We even had our own diamond with backstop by the 8th green at Highland Golf Course.  Bill enjoyed sandlot baseball, basketball, & football.  I also remember when we all went off to ISU.  I saw Bill on the quad near the beginning of our first semester freshman year.  We were both kind of intimidated by the size of the university.  We then started meeting at the union on a regular basis with other BHS grads.  We also played on the South Hill Pirates softball team after college.  Bill played second base.

Great times - Great memories.

Bill, I salute you.
