Jerry was my best friend in HS and we pretty much did everything together, even going together to be enlisted (draft). Jerry found out that he had leukemia while being processed for the draft and passed away a year later. I've missed him all this time. Best friends are always best friends, sometimes they just go to heaven quicker than us.
Jerry passed away December 26, 1973. He is still missed today by my family. Jerry and my sister Julie Garrels were sweethearts for 6 years...until his death. He was one of the greatest men to ever graduate from BHS. He is at peace now.
"Jerry" again was one of those sweet people. He worked at the corner grocery store call Park Store across the street from Miller Park. I use to do my grocery shopping there and was able to see Jerry every week. He truly was a sweet and good man and always had a smile on his face. He died December 26, 1973 and is buried in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetary
